Jenika Marshall

Jenika is working with the BBERG as part of the research staff in Earth Sciences at the St. John’s campus. She obtained a B.Sc. and M.Sc. from Memorial University with a focus in biochemistry. Throughout her time as a student of Memorial she gained experience in various techniques including mammalian and bacterial cell culture (including plasmid generation, mammalian cell transfection, generation of adeno-associated viruses in vitro), RT-PCR, immunoblotting, lipid extraction and analyses, as well as some exposure to ESI-UHPLC-MS/MS, among others.
In her current role, Jenika acts to coordinate the use of the laboratory’s optical equipment (spectrophotometer and spectrofluorometer) and HPLC, as well as to conduct the majority of HPLC analyses for the research team.
