Allison Pond

I am currently entering my fourth year of studies towards a BSc (hons) in Chemistry. I began working with the BBERG group in Winter 2020 as an undergraduate research assistant through a MUCEP. I am currently working on my honours thesis in chemistry/earth sciences co-supervised by Dr. Sue Ziegler and Dr. Heather Reader from the department of Chemistry. My research focuses on investigating a potential means by which dissolved organic matter can be mobilized and transported to the aquatic, specifically during the evapotranspiration shutdown period. I will be using base extracted particulate organic matter and spectroscopic techniques to analyze ground water samples from the Pynn’s Brook watershed.
