Failing to speak out at injustice, or failing to actively work to undo past wrongs, only maintains the status quo. This is particularly important for those in positions of power and privilege who have benefitted from systemic injustices and who can safely speak out without fearing reprisal. Many civil rights movement leaders through history have stated that such inaction makes one culpable for those systemic injustices. We have a moral obligation to speak out. I am happy to work with a union who understand this.
