I am excited to announce that a picture that I took in Portugal in May 2024 is on the June 2025 cover of the journal, Geology. The picture shows Guincho rock on the Santa Cruz Beach near Silveira, Portugal. This part of Iberia is the conjugate margin to the southeastern margin of Newfoundland. The margins were last connected within the Pangean supercontinent and are now rifted apart, with anomalously smooth seafloor between them. My paper, “Unusually fracture-free seafloor in the southern North Atlantic between Newfoundland and Iberia explained through compounding tectonic inheritance since the Paleoproterozoic”, is in the same volume on pages 483–487. The open access paper can be accessed at this link: https://pubs.geoscienceworld.org/gsa/geology/article/doi/10.1130/G53057.1/652879/Unusually-fracture-free-seafloor-in-the-southern
